Almost 2 million international students (and future world leaders) are studying at North American universities and colleges. We meet them in our classes, labs, and residences. Coincidence or an invitation from the Lord? Let’s find out! Learn how to build relationships with international students, invite them on a spiritual journey, and share Jesus in culturally sensitive and relevant ways.

Speakers
Bok Chew

A former international student (Malaysia) and banker from Mississippi, Bok Chew is still passionate about reaching the world and making disciples on U.S. campuses. Happily married to his Deutsche Frau, they have two young collegiate Americans and live in Ohio. Bok has worked with InterVarsity for the past 22 years and currently is the National Coordinator for the International Graduate Students and Faculty Ministries. Bok loves hands-on ministry and learns best by doing and meeting with people. When not with people, he loves picking up discarded items and giving them a second life.

Heidi Kempt Chew

Heidi Kempt Chew grew up in Germany and was an international student in Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the U.S. She holds degrees in theology, journalism, education, and cross-cultural psychology and is also a certified Spiritual Director in the Ignatian tradition.
