Prior to teaching, John served as a military attorney at the Pentagon, a law clerk in South Dakota, and a youth pastor in North Carolina. As an undergraduate at Duke University, John was active in InterVarsity and participated in InterVarsity’s Denver Urban Program the summer after graduation. He currently serves on InterVarsity’s Board of Trustees. He is also the Executive Director of the Carver Project, an initiative developed by Christian faculty committed to maintaining a faithful presence in higher education and beyond.
