Come hear from practitioners from a variety of legal backgrounds on the challenges and opportunities of being a Christian in law. Learn how Christian attorneys (and future attorneys) can grow in spiritual maturity and discernment, encourage one another in their faith and vocation, be a faithful presence in the legal profession, and pursue society’s flourishing for the sake of the kingdom.

John Inazu

John Inazu is the Sally D. Danforth Distinguished Professor of Law and Religion at Washington University in St. Louis. His scholarly focus is the First Amendment freedoms of speech, assembly, and religion. John is the author of Liberty’s Refuge: The Forgotten Freedom of Assembly and Confident Pluralism: Surviving and Thriving Through Deep Difference. He is co-editor with Tim Keller of Uncommon Ground: Living Faithfully in a World of Difference.

Ebony McCain

Ebony McCain is a lawyer and mentor from St. Louis, Missouri. She is a graduate of Rhodes College and Washington University in St. Louis School of Law. She’s also a member of Life Center International Church of God in Christ, where she and her husband lead the College and Career Ministry and serve as facilitators for the Marriage Ministry. Ebony recently served as the first Director of Mentoring for The Carver Project for several years. She serves on the Board of Directors for Central Christian School and currently works in public service. 

Kellye Fabian Story

Kellye Fabian Story is an author, lawyer, and pastor. She currently works at Wagenmaker & Oberly as an attorney, where she represents nonprofit organizations. Kellye has written two books: Sacred Questions: A Transformative Journey Through the Bible and Holy Vulnerability: Spiritual Practices for the Broken, Afraid, Anxious, and Ashamed. She has a Master’s in New Testament and serves at Windy City Community Church, where her husband Steve is the Senior Pastor. They live in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago and have three grown daughters. 

David Liu

David Liu is a veteran general counsel and technology lawyer in Silicon Valley. Currently, he’s the General Counsel of Sounding Board, a technology startup in the leadership development space. He has previously served as the General Counsel of Clever, Coursera, and Essential Products and as an Associate General Counsel at Google. A native of North Carolina, he received his undergraduate degree from UNC-Chapel Hill. While earning his JD from Harvard, David was a member of the law school’s InterVarsity chapter, where his faith was nurtured and deepened.
