Dr. Denise-Margaret Thompson is a Professor in the Centre for Production Systems at the University of Trinidad and Tobago. Her work has focused on technology innovation, entrepreneurship and economic development. She previously served as a professor at Norfolk State University in Virginia and has been recognized for teaching excellence in her field.

Dr. Thompson is on the board of Inter-School and Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship in Trinidad and Tobago. She went to college at the University of the West Indies, where she majored in engineering. Her graduate studies took her to Stanford where she earned a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management, and to the University of South Florida, where she earned a Ph.D Industrial and Management Systems Engineering. Dr. Thompson is married to Dr. Andre Cooper, and together they are the proud parents of 15 year-old, Rae-Mischel Abigail Thompson-Cooper.
