David Guehring was born in Stuttgart, Germany and grew up in a Christian Family with his five younger siblings. His parents are sports ministry pioneers in Europe.
A former high level athlete his passion is to reach the world of Sport for Christ and to tell the greatest story ever told through the universal language of Sport. After studying two years of Primary School Education, he went to Southern Africa and graduated from the International Sports Leadership School in Stellenbosch near Cape Town. He then completed a BA in Biblical and Cross-Cultural Studies at All Nations Christian College in London, England.
For the last ten years David has lived, studied and worked in a cross-cultural environment and for the last three years served as a regional facilitator in Europe for the global sports ministry movement.
After 25 years of first playing and then coaching Team Handball he has recently started to compete again.
David has regularly trained sports people in many countries around the world in subjects such as Bible and Sport, Cultural Studies and Leadership as well as Partnerships and Building Effective Teams.
Since 2009 he has been involved in leading the eight week International Sports Ministry Internship “Impact Europe” where college and club level athletes can discover their potential to make Sport their Mission. His heart is to invest in the new generation of sports ministry leaders and to walk with them as they discover God’s plan for their life.
David and his wife Rita live in Northern Italy.
