The heart’s cry of Youth Dynamics is to see Northwest youth transformed by the power of Christ, integrated into the local church, and impacting their world for Him We do that through: •YD Communities, our weekly ministry to mostly unsaved, at-risk youth in rural towns and small cities. • YD Adventures, our adventure-based ministry to groups of youth and youth adults in churches, schools and the like, with bases near Boise, Portland and • Stonewater Ranch, our 158 acre property outside Leavenworth, which reaches youth through adventures, leadership development, and retreats for the greater body of Christ.
Describe the types of ministry opportunities your agency will offer to Urbana 12 participants:
Here are some of the entry-level ministry positions currently available which will be offered to Urbana 12 participants: YD Communities Area Staff positions are needed in many locations in order to grow the organization’s capacity to minister to youth in communities across the Northwest, especially in rural areas. We have an immediate need for Full Time Area Staff of both genders, but we especially need female staff currently. YD Adventures has multiple entry-level management positions available over various adventure areas including: Rock, River, Backcountry, and Challenge Course managers at our adventure bases in Washingon, Oregon and Idaho. Also available are ministry positions overseeing various programs including: Leadership Pursuits and Godly Men in Training (GMiT), • Current open positions will vary with each base and typically start and move from: program coordinator to associate manager, and then onto manager positions. Management positions are also available in Operations, Facilities, Communications and Marketing. These positions typically start as an associate manager position. Training and orientation for all positions include: Internships: We have an extensive 18-month internship program, partially funded by a grant by the Murdock-Trust. This exposes a young adult to every area of our ministry including 2 Summers of working with YD Adventures and 9 months working with local teenagers in one of our existing YD Communities alongside a Communities Director and their team. Summer Staff: Each summer YD Adventures hires a select number of talented young adults from all over the world to lead adventure trips for teens in Washington, Idaho and Oregon. The Summer Staff ministry team is an integral part of YD Adventures, which is committed to reaching today’s youth through dynamic relationships and challenging experiences. Members of the Summer Staff team will guide teens on a variety of wilderness activities: whitewater rafting, rockclimbing, backpacking, challenge courses, horseback riding, kayaking, and many more. You will work alongside the YDA Staff to design the ministry program for each trip and assist in the preparations and logistical operations of the trips. We provide all training necessary.
