The mission of Veritas Christian Study Abroad is to provide college-level study abroad programs at host universities while helping students develop as mission-minded Christian leaders. Students who study on a Veritas program will have opportunities to work with local ministries while they earn college credit toward their degree. Serving others in the host culture for a semester or summer program will enhance the immersion experience and give students a broader understanding of the joys and challenges of cross-cultural ministry beyond the experience of a short-term mission trip.
Describe the types of ministry opportunities your agency will offer to Urbana 12 participants:
Veritas offers students who are looking to study abroad the opportunity to combine missions with their time abroad. Each program includes a Mission Mentor who is a staff member on the ground in that program's city who will help to equip and place the student in a mission opportunity that best fits them. Previous mission opportunities have included work with children/orphans, the elderly, those with disabilities, refugees, prison ministries, college outreach on international campuses, tutoring, and worship leading. As we continue to receive new students with new sets of gifts, we work alongside the Mission Mentor to help give them a mission opportunity that will best fit them.
