The Emerging Scholars Network (ESN) is part of InterVarsity's Graduate & Faculty Ministry. ESN seeks to identify, encourage, and equip the next generation of Christian scholars who desire to be a redeeming influence within higher education. The vision of the Emerging Scholars Network is that the next generation of Christian scholars have a redeeming influence within higher education as they: love God with heart, mind, soul, and strength as they follow God's call in discipleship and spiritual formation; exhibit excellence in research, teaching, and service; influence the university, the church, and the world by practicing their disciplines from a profoundly Christian viewpoint; and embody the gender, ethnic, and social diversity of the church within the academy.
Describe the types of ministry opportunities your agency will offer to Urbana 12 participants: 
Students, faculty, and InterVarsity staff have already been mixing it up with conversation, book giveaways, and general hang-out, http://www.facebook.com/GFMatUrbana12. Please come to the table and the seminars (see below). Note: The Emerging Scholars Network serves undergraduate students, graduate students, post-docs, young faculty considering and or participating in higher education as a vocation -- for a glimpse of membership benefits visit http://esn.intervarsity.org/esn-membership. Mentoring and mentee opportunities for undergraduate students, graduate students, post-docs, and faculty considering and or participating in higher education as a vocation. Active on-line communities, e.g., http://blog.emergingscholars.org and http://www.facebook.com/emergingscholars. Resources for transitions in higher education, e.g. undergraduate to graduate school, graduate school to post-doc and faculty. Note: With Urbana12, we're expecting we'll cross the 4,000 member mark.
Besides exhibiting at Urbana 12, we'll also be...: 
Gatherings: in addition to Grad & Faculty Ministry Community Day (12/31, 2-3 pm, America’s Center 274), we'll have other smaller activities, for more information come by the booth for invitations. AND we'll have drawings for a number of books including Urbana12 emcee Greg Jao's "Your Mind's Mission," http://www.ivpress.com/cgi-ivpress/book.pl/code=3461.
