Speakers

Musician, writer, director; an award-winning playwright and InterVarsity Press author. Wrote and toured with markproject. Native of Southern California and former campus staff, has worked cross-culturally in South Africa, the Philippines, South Korea, and other countries.

Born in Manila, Philippines, Aimee was adopted and raised in California. She studied at Hope International University. Aimee and her late husband, Ben, spent three summers working with an arts program for kids. Aimee teaches preschool.

Ashley June Smith

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, earned a B.A. from Washington University and is finishing an MDiv at Fuller. She lives in Seattle, Washington and works as IV staff. This will be her third time performing at Urbana.

Daniel Jones

Daniel lives in Toronto and works for Inter-Varsity Canada. He studied at Moravian College and the American Conservatory Theatre and has worked on stage and in film. He has performed all over the world and toured in markproject.

Fiona Jack

Fiona grew up in a family of musicians in a tiny town. She now lives and works as an Inter-Varsity team leader in Toronto. She attended Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario and pioneered several global partnerships in Asia.

Born in Los Angeles, graduated from UC Berkeley and currently lives in Berkeley where he is InterVarsity BCM staff and a part-time legal assistant. Learned to play drums at church and does step dancing.

Jenny Vaughn Hall

Jenny lived in South Los Angeles for 10 years where she founded a theatre company. Theatre was her major at UCLA. She live in Seattle, WA where she work as an actor and choreographer. Her favorite story is the play "Clybourne Park."

Kristen grew up in a missionary family; works for Inter-Varsity at U of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, on the Canadian Prairies. He has master’s degree in piano performance from U of Western Ontario; led an urban arts project.

A native of Memphis, Matt studied journalism and electronic media at the University of Tennessee, where he was a decathlete.  He is an InterVarsity staff and an ordained elder in Children of God Ministries of Knoxville, TN.  

Min-Soo Kang

Recent graduate of Tyndale Seminary in Toronto, Canada.  Leads ministry in Toronto called Deep Waters, which seeks to integrate Christians who experience same-sex attraction into authentic and transformative Christian community.

Graduated from U of the Pacific with a degree in biology; now serves with InterVarsity at Stanford University.  Has done ministry in several urban partnerships in US and abroad. Has been dancing ballet most of her life.

From Cleveland, Ohio, earned a B.A. Comparative Cultural Studies from Ohio State University. Is now the Area Director for InterVarsity for Central Ohio and is a Company Member at Columbus Modern Dance Company.

From Lodi, California, went to UCLA and Currently lives in Honolulu, planting missional movements across the city. He has participated in missions in Mexico, Boston, L.A., the Middle East, and Hawai`i. He was the lead in his kindergarten play.
