Global Voices Will Challenge Urbana 15 Participants

December 16, 2014

(Madison, WI)  -- Urbana, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship’s triennial student missions conference, returns one year from this December in St. Louis, Missouri, to challenge a new generation of college students to discover their calling in God’s global mission. They will hear the Word of God proclaimed by globally and ethnically diverse voices, work at discerning God’s will for their lives  at what is the world’s largest gathering of leaders from missions organizations and seminaries, and worship God, along with thousands of fellow Christian believers.

Urbana speakers always play a significant role in students’ discernment process over the five days of the conference and far beyond it. “The speakers at Urbana will challenge us, teach us, and help us explore where our passions, dreams, and calling align with God’s global mission,” said Úna Lucey-Lee, program director for Urbana, as she announced the general session speakers for Urbana 15.

Joining Patrick Fung, general director of OMF Internationalwho has already been announced as the Urbana 15 expositor, will be:

“There is nothing else like Urbana,” said Tom Lin, Urbana director and InterVarsity’s vice president for missions. “Some speakers are new to Urbana, some have spoken before. But all the speakers and all of the seminars will be focused on how our lives can intersect with God’s global mission.”

InterVarsity’s Urbana Student Missions Conference is one of the longest-running regularly scheduled events of evangelical Christianity in North America, with more than 250,000 alumni. The first one was held in Toronto in 1946. Subsequent Urbana Conferences were held on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign until 2006, when the conference moved to The America’s Center in St. Louis. Urbana 15 will be held December 27-31, 2015.

Registration for Urbana 15 opens on March 4, 2015. More information on Urbana speakers is available at urbana.org/speakers.
