Hi Jack,We are ...

mark asked:

Hi Jack, We are considering serving with Wycliffe Associates and would like to know what other agencies that they are associated with, and other things about them. Is there a website or other source that we can look at that gives a summary of each agency out there?

Jack Answered:

Thanks, Mark, for writing and for your interest in helping with the Lord’s work through Wycliffe Associates. If you search Google for “Wycliffe Associates” you will find several web-sites. Here is a quote from one of them: Since 1967, Wycliffe Associates has supported the worldwide efforts of Bible translation by recruiting and mobilizing lay people to offer practical assistance that frees up missionary linguists from tasks that take them away from translation work. Today, millions of people are waiting for a Bible written in a language they can read and understand. Thousands of Wycliffe Associates partners and friends help accelerate translation efforts through dedicated service in numerous areas of ministry. Visit www.wycliffeassociates.org to find an opportunity that will allow you to invest your time and talents to support and further worldwide Bible translation. Wycliffe Bible Translators is one of the largest evangelical mission agencies and has friendly relationships with most other evangelical agencies. I’m not sure what you mean by their being “associated with” other agencies. You could ask them. I find that most mission agencies have web sites, as Wycliffe does. I have known Wycliffe personnel in several Latin American countries and warmly support their vision and their accomplishments. Have you read the biography of the founder, Cameron Townsend? If not, I’d recommend it. Written by James Hefley, Uncle Cam. There are two editions, 1981 and 1987. Available on Google. Jack
