Prayer Coordinator
Carolyn Carney is deeply committed to the spiritual development of students, especially through prayer and discipleship.
Carolyn is the Assistant Regional Director for Spiritual Formation and Prayer for the NY/NJ region of InterVarsity. She has a Master of Arts in spiritual formation and leadership from Spring Arbor University and is a spiritual director.
Throughout her tenure with InterVarsity over the last 30 years, Carolyn has served in several roles, including one with InterVarsity Link in South Africa. She created and currently leads a week-long, interactive, intercessory prayer track called Transforming Prayer. Carolyn has served on the Prayer Ministry Team for the past five Urbanas, and was Co-director of Prayer Ministry at Urbana 12. She has trained Urbana intercessors for the past two conferences.
Carolyn also serves on the Discipleship Steering Committee with InterVarsity, where she is providing leadership for the development of resources in the area of sexuality and relational health.
She is a member of All Angels’ Episcopal Church in New York City and enjoys hiking, photography, conversation, travel, a good movie, and excellent dark roast coffee.
